Announcing Me & Korea's 5th Annual 10 for $10 Fundraiser!

Dear Friends, Supporters and Tour Alumni of Me & Korea,

We are thrilled to announce the beginning of our Fifth Annual Ten for $10 Fundraiser! As with every year, your support for this fundraiser has been critical to meeting our annual program expenses. Without your support, Me & Korea would not be able to provide important activities such as:

Mosaic Hapa Tours and Mosaic Tours

The Mosaic and Mosaic Hapa Tours are a culmination of tireless planning efforts by volunteers who spend countless hours throughout the year to ensure adult adoptees have the opportunity to explore their country of birth. Free from the worry of in-country costs and the logistics of traveling in a foreign country, adoptees gain a stronger sense of self through positive life-changing experiences, building an identity tied to their birth country, and connecting with other adoptees. For many, this opportunity is their first to discover their Korean roots and to learn more about the stories of who they were before they were adopted.

School for Korean Adoptees and Families (SKAF)

Me & Korea founded SKAF in San Ramon, California in 2015, and has expanded since. SKAF uses hands-on learning to help younger Korean adoptees and their families learn about Korean culture through language, folk stories, arts and crafts, culture, festivities, and history. Since its inception, SKAF has seen a significant increase in family participation at all age levels.

Wings Program

Originally dedicated to supporting orphans in South Korea, Me & Korea provides birthday cakes, graduation gifts, and treats to over 80 children at Angels’ Haven Orphanage throughout the year. These gifts are meant to share the love and compassion adult adoptees have for the children of Angels’ Haven Orphanage, which has also become a regular volunteering activity for all participants of the annual Mosaic Tours. Recently, the Wings Program expanded its services to include education grants to students who have reached graduation age at the Angels’ Haven Orphanage, as well as a new grant program for single mothers at AeRanWon who are starting their independent lives outside of the group home, in some cases with their child.

Omma Poom Park in Paju, South Korea

In September 2018, Me & Korea was excited to help open the Omma Poom Park during a dedication ceremony in Paju, South Korea. The park is the only place in the world dedicated to Korean adoptees and their families, and provides a place of reflection for those visiting from around the world.

To meet the costs of these incredibly important activities, we’ve set an important fundraising goal of $15,000 by June 1, 2019.

As a supporter of Me & Korea, can you donate $100, $50, or even $10 to help us meet our budget for 2019?

To increase the impact of your donation, please consider asking at least 10 of your friends and family to give $10. You can even send them a link to this blog post, to make it easy! Each donation goes a long way in helping us meet our goal to support Korean adoptees and their families.

We sincerely thank you for your generous contribution and your continued support. Me & Korea, Inc. is recognized by the IRS as a Section 501(c)(3) public charity. Donations to Me & Korea are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law.

Sincerely,
The Board of Me & Korea
